Manufacture
We have formed an alliance with Swan Artworks to produce the very best wrapped canvas prints from your photos. Swan Artworks are highly revered Guild Commended Framers with many years of experience.
Our part in the making of your ready-to-hang wrapped canvas print (stretched canvas print) is to use our expertise to produce the best possible reproduction of your photo onto canvas. Once we are happy that we have done this, we then place the canvas into the capable hands of Swan Artworks.
For their part, Swan Artworks hand make a stretcher frame of the required dimensions. Over this they expertly wrap your canvas and make it ready to hang.
Materials
Unlike a majority of our competitors, Phoenix PhotoGraphics and Swan Artworks only use the very best materials, including:
- GALLERY STRETCHER BARS: 28mm deep
Sturdy edge laminated stretcher bars that are accurately cut and assembled to form the wooden framework upon which your canvas is wrapped
- PINE STRETCHER BARS: 17mm deep
Low profile stretcher bars that are accurately cut and assembled to form the wooden framework upon which your canvas is wrapped
- ARCHIVE QUALITY CANVAS [450gsm]: water resistant, acid free (pH neutral)
One of the most archival matte canvasses available. This canvas can remain lightfast for in excess of 100 years (meeting and exceeding the standards set forth by the Fine Art Trade Guild for pH and lightfastness)
- HEAVY WEIGHT CANVAS [450gsm]
A water-resistant matte canvas that offers a budget conscious alternative to the Archive Quality Canvas
- EPSON ULTRACHROME INKS: pigment based, waterproof, fade-resistant
Epson UltraChrome pigment based inks better traditional silver halide photographs for the intensity and range of colours they produce
Wrap Variations
There are two different ways in which your photo can be presented on a wrapped canvas:
- MUSEUM WRAP: the recommended method
The entire photographic image is printed on the front of the frame, leaving the sides as canvas white
- GALLERY WRAP
Either the image extends beyond the front of the frame and is wrapped around the sides, or they are printed in a single block colour
Recommended Sizes
The given sizes are the most popular, but we are happy to make your wrapped canvas any size you wish... erm, within reason that is!
